Our First Lady – Lady Deborah Lawson

Lady Deborah Patton-Lawson hails from her native hometown of New Haven, CT. As the granddaughter of a preacher, she has been involved in ministry all of her life.

She received her post-secondary education from the University of Connecticut. Lady Lawson works for the New Haven Public Schools as one of the managers in the Early Childhood Education Department.

She has served and worked in the City of New Haven for over 27 years.

“1st”, as she is affectionately referred to by her church members, & extended family, truly has the heart of a servant for the people of God and happily serves her church as “The Leading Lady” of Powerhouse Ministries.

Lady Lawson is very active in church and can be found working amongst the members and their concerns.

She also is the advisor for the Women’s ministry, a member of the Voices of Power Praise & Worship Team, and serves as the National “First Lady” of the Kingdom International Assemblies & Affiliates, Inc.

Lady Lawson not only has a passion for ministry, but also for music.  Her passion has afforded her the opportunity to sing, travel & in some instances to record with the Vernon Jones Singers, the Willie Smalls Singers & UCONN’s Voices of Freedom. Lady Lawson also has an undisputable reputation in the area of the culinary arts.

Most importantly, she is an encourager to everyone and an avid supporter of unity in Christ. Her resounding motto is: “It’s always better when we do it together”.

She is married to The Rev. Dr. Lonnell I. Lawson, Sr.  Together they are the parents of five children, many grandchildren and a host of spiritual & adopted sons and daughters.
